About Von Uberhund Kennel: I have been breeding beautiful white German Shepherds since 1992. I have always tried to produce the healthiest, largest, and most beautiful white German Shepherds (WGSD). My WGSD’s are unlike most other kennels in several ways. 1. Broad Head: I try to produce a broader or more blocked head shape. Many other kennels produce very narrow head shaped GSD’s. The fuller head type is not only much better looking, but also allows for stronger jaws. Most importantly it prevents a syndrome common in narrow headed breeds, where the brain of the dog gets compacted into too narrow a skull, causing pain and inappropriate aggression. 2. Deep chest: A deep chest (at least to the elbow of the dog) allows for greater drive in defense of an owner. It makes a GSD more powerful and frankly, looks much better. 3. Size: I’ve heard breeders of small GSD’s claim that they breed small for the sake of healthier hips. However all my dogs are OFA certified free of Hip Dysplasia, and my kennel’s average dog gets a high score on their OFA: scores of "Good" or better are typical. I prefer large GSD’s and my kennel, I believe, consistently produces exceptionally large dogs. My females are usually 26" to 28" at the withers, and my males 28" to 30"; females weigh 90-110 lbs, and males 110-150 lbs, 120 lbs being norm at 2 ½ years old. John Lerch |
